Chris Blake Artist
Chris is a London-born Australian artist working mostly in oils and pastels. He paints landscapes, town-scapes, marine subjects, boats, and action and human interest subjects. He is a master pastellist with the Pastel Society of Australia. His work could best be described as contemporary impressionism - realism, but he tends to push the boundaries of color and tone. His paintings might have green, yellow or pink skies, blue roads, or purple sand and shadows. It makes them vibrant and, with judicious layering, even luminous.
