1. In Red Powder-Coated  Metal
Over the last couple of years, Chris has worked to develop a new easel, designed to be sturdy yet moveable, capable of holding paintings of any size, with fingertip control operating on a counterbalance system. Set-up and vertical movement of the canvas are easy and quick.

It also fits easily into corners or can be folded flat and stored against a wall or under a bed for those who don't have a dedicated art space.

The easel is made from welded square section metal and aluminum and rides on lockable wheels.  It is solid and sturdy like its maker and is powder-coated in a bright, bright red color. The powder-coating means that the easel is easy to clean and there is less likelihood of the paintwork scratching and chipping.

What more could you want?

Well, Chris is currently working on a detachable tray under the canvas for holding your pastels, paints, and brushes. It's still in the prototype stage but will be ready soon. He is also planning detachable lights, a rack for paper towels,s and a side table.  Watch this space for updates.

It is currently being trialed in one retail outlet on the Sunshine Coast and more will be coming on board.  Chris has had an introductory offer going at less than wholesale price for the first ten. There are currently three introductory easels left.  ( 11 March 2016)

2. A New Design: The Blake Wooden Easel

The criteria behind the Blake Easel was to design an easel for artists who have restricted designated painting space The result after many hours of drawing and trying different ideas was an easel that will:   1.  fit into a corner of the room.
           2.  be able at the same time to support a large painting.  The Blake easel will support a painting a meter wide while hard into a corner of a room.
           3.  be able to be moved from room to room safely with a large painting still on it. You can move a support 150cm x 100 cm through your doorway.
           4. enable you to change the height of your work at a touch. The easel has a counterweight system to take the load of lifting or lowering your work.
           5. stack away when not needed. The easel will take up about 250mm when folded up against a wall.
           6. be light enough to be transported to a workshop in the back of a station wagon. ( Commodore or Falcon.) I have a Magna and it will fit.
           7. be safe painting support for gallery display.

There you have it. The pictures will show you what it looks like and how it works.
I made 14 for use at the Pastel Expo this year [2018].
I have about 10 left and will not be making any more so this is the last and only chance you will have of buying a unique easel at a price that is less than that of a commercially produced easel with few of these features. Because they were used for the 4 days of the Expo [there may be some scratches on the varnish ] they will be sold at a cost of $450 each plus postage if applicable. I will deliver free and set up within 50 kilometers from my studio in Landsborough on the Sunshine Coast.
